2. Description of service
Barista is a communication assistant that uses voice input and optional screen context to help you draft and refine messages. The service is provided in beta and may change, improve, or be discontinued at any time.
3. Accounts and eligibility
3.1 Account creation
To use certain features, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.
3.2 Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, to use Barista. By using the service, you represent that you meet this requirement.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Barista to:
- Generate or distribute harmful, illegal, fraudulent, or deceptive content.
- Violate the rights of others, including privacy and intellectual property rights.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to discover the source code of the service.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service.
- Use the service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
5. Intellectual property

You retain ownership of the messages, voice inputs, and other content you submit to Barista. We do not claim ownership over your outputs.
5.2 Our rights
Barista and all associated software, designs, logos, and materials are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our permission.
6. Beta software
Barista is currently in beta. That means features may change, bugs may occur, and the service may be unavailable at times. We appreciate your feedback and patience as we improve the product.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to Barista at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these terms or if it is necessary to protect the service or other users. You may stop using the service at any time.
8. Disclaimers
Barista is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that outputs will always be accurate or appropriate for your situation.
You are responsible for reviewing and approving any content generated by Barista before sending it.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Barista and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the service.
10. Governing law
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms will be resolved in the courts located in San Francisco County, California.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Barista after that date constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
