Barista is a communication assistant that helps you turn rough thoughts into polished messages. Because the product works with your voice, your screen context, and the apps you already use, privacy is not an afterthought. It is the foundation of the product.

2. Information we collect
2.1 Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and any optional profile information you choose to provide, such as your name or preferred language.
2.2 Voice input
When you press and hold Barista's activation key, we receive an audio recording of what you say. This recording is processed to generate a response and is not retained longer than necessary to provide the service.
2.3 Screen context
With your permission, Barista reads the visible content around your cursor to understand the conversation you are replying to. This context is only captured when you explicitly invoke Barista and is used solely to generate your response.
2.4 Usage data
We collect technical information such as app version, operating system version, crash logs, and aggregated usage metrics. This helps us improve performance and fix bugs.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain Barista and its features.
- Generate the responses and suggestions you ask for.
- Improve the product and develop new features.
- Respond to your support requests and communicate with you about the service.

4. Data retention
Voice recordings and screen context are processed in real time and are not stored after the response is generated unless you explicitly choose to save a draft or conversation history.
Account information and usage logs are retained for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes.
5. Sharing and third parties
We do not sell your personal information. We work with a limited number of trusted service providers who help us operate Barista, such as cloud infrastructure and AI processing partners. These providers are contractually bound to use your data only for the purposes of providing services to us and to protect it with appropriate security measures.
6. AI and machine learning
Barista uses third-party AI models to process your inputs. We do not allow those models to train on your data. Your conversations, voice recordings, and screen context are used only to generate the response you requested and are not added to any public or shared training dataset.
7. Your rights and choices

8. Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's privacy
Barista is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Your continued use of Barista after the changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
